Where Nadia’s Story in the Monster Hunter World All Began

Like the other Ace Hunters, Nadia first properly appears in Monster Hunter 4 during the player’s journey with the Caravan. However, her history with Julius the Ace Commander actually stretches back further. That earlier story is briefly shown in the Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild animated movie.
At the time, Julius had just taken a young villager named Aiden under his wing, answering a call for help from Aiden’s village as it came under attack by the Elder Dragon Lunastra. Realizing they were badly outmatched, Julius fired an SOS flare into the sky. When Nadia answered his call, Julius, Aiden, and an eccentric Hunter named Nox got into trouble fighting a Nerscylla. Thankfully, Nadia’s timely arrival helped stabilize the situation.
Joined by Raffi, a former Hunter-turned-poacher who had since become a blacksmith to atone for his sins, the team put together a desperate plan to drive Lunastra away. Even so, they were facing an Elder Dragon at full strength — and the cost was severe. Nox and Raffi lost their lives, and the survivors were forced to destroy a dam, sacrificing part of Aiden’s already burning village just to repel the Empress of Flame.
The aftermath of their brutal fight left a lasting mark on Aiden, as he truly understood how dangerous the world of hunting could be. Determined to protect others from facing the same helplessness, he chose to follow Julius and Nadia, and with that decision made, the three of them set off together.
Ace Hunters, All Together

Some time later, Nadia and the rest of the Ace Hunters crossed paths with a Caravan crew in the underground village of Harth, home to the Trovians. While the Caravaneers were chasing treasures and the thrill of discovery, the Ace Hunters were there for a pressing matter. Now joined by Fabius the Ace Lancer, the team was investigating a dangerous affliction spreading among monsters.
That affliction was the Frenzy Virus. Monsters infected by it became far stronger than normal and violently aggressive. The Ace Hunters asked the Caravan for assistance, and both groups followed any trail of the virus they could find.
Their search eventually brought them face-to-face with Gore Magala — the source of the outbreak. Blind, Gore Magala scatters pollen-like scales that allow it to sense prey through heat, but also inadvertently spread the Frenzy Virus. Despite multiple encounters, the black-clad monster always got away from the player’s Hunter and the Aces’ grasp.
Realizing they were running out of time, the Ace Hunters split up to cover more ground. During the search, Fabius and Aiden were ambushed by Gore Magala. Just as the situation turned dire, the player’s Hunter arrived and saved them just in the nick of time. Trusting the Hunter’s skill, the Aces placed the responsibility of defeating Gore Magala — and later Shagaru Magala, its fully evolved form that had completely embraced the power of the Frenzy Virus — on them.
With the Frenzy crisis finally dealt with, Nadia and the Ace Hunters parted ways with the Caravan.
Defending the Guild’s Headquarters: Facing Off Against Rusted Kushala Daora

Later on, the Hunter and their Caravan finally reached Dondurma, the heart of the Hunter’s Guild. Waiting for them were Nadia and the rest of the Ace Hunters, ready to welcome their old hunting partner. The reunion didn’t last long, however, as Dondurma suddenly came under attack by a Rusted Kushala Daora. It is an aged variant of the Elder Dragon whose metallic hide had grown so thick over time that it had begun to corrode and rust.
Julius revealed that this was no random Kushala Daora — years earlier, he, Nadia, and their Master had encountered the very same monster. What should have been a routine hunt against a Rathian took a disastrous turn when the Elder Dragon entered the scene. The fight left a scar mark on the monster’s face and a terrible injury on their Master, forcing him into retirement. Now, with Dondurma under siege, the unfinished business had come full circle.
As the Ace Hunters moved into position around the city’s defenses and manning siege weaponry, Nadia provided covering fire using her trusty Rathalos Heavy Bowgun.
But, just when victory seemed within reach, Aiden’s reckless move nearly cost both him and Julius their lives. Nadia could only watch as her leader and youngest teammate braced for a devastating wind blast. At the last moment, Fabius stepped in, shielding them and preventing a fatal blow.
With their combined efforts, the player’s Hunter and the Aces finally repelled the Rusted Kushala Daora. Their ultimate weapons, the Dragonator and Demolisher Cannon, were deployed to deal a devastating blow to the dragon. Nadia later accompanied Julius to bid farewell to their retired Master, who entrusted them with a parting gift — a sword symbolizing their legacy.

Some time after their adventures, the Ace Hunters eventually went their separate ways. Aiden departed for the New World alongside the World Hunter, while Fabius stepped away from the frontline and became the Hunter’s Guild leader. Nadia, meanwhile, continues her work as a solo Hunter.
That separation wouldn’t last forever as Nadia was forced to be reunited with Fabius in the Forbidden Lands. Gogmazios — a massive tar-covered Elder Dragon that had once terrorized Dondurma — suddenly resurfaced in Azuz. As the towering monster targeted Olivia and Werner when they were preparing a trap, Nadia intervened. Her shot created an opening for the Wilds Hunter to seize a Compact Anti-Wyvern Gun lodged in the creature’s body and damaged it.
Together, Nadia, Fabius, and the Forbidden Lands Research Commission Units managed to turn the tide. With much effort, Gogmazios was finally brought down, putting an end to its long-running threat.
In Monster Hunter 4 and Legends of the Guild, she is seen wearing a ponytail, a unique Sororal Armor set, and a Rathalos Heavy Bowgun. In Monster Hunter Wilds, she has switched to a short haircut, paired with a Rathalos Light Bowgun. For her armor, she wears the special Sororal set.
During gameplay, Nadia can join as a Support Hunter and help you out in quests after defeating Gogmazios. The setting can be found in the Quest Menu > Post/Join Quest > Settings > Select Support Hunters. However, Nadia and Fabius will only show up during Festival periods.
Nadia the Ace Gunner’s Personality

From the start, Nadia is portrayed as the most observant and composed member of the Ace Hunters. Known for her exceptionally sharp eyesight, she always analyzes hunting grounds like an eagle scanning for prey. Among Hunters, it’s said that the Ace Gunner can easily spot a Chameleos while it’s cloaked from a great distance.
Aside from the Ace Hunters and Caravaneers, Werner, the smith of the Astrum Unit in the Forbidden Lands Research Commission, appears to have a prior history with her as well. While he respects Nadia’s marksmanship, he also seems wary of her, remarking that her instincts resemble those of ‘a wild animal.’ Once she senses something is off, not even a ‘single blasted secret’ can stay hidden from her.
Nevertheless, Nadia often acts as a foil to Ace Commander’s stern, by-the-book demeanor. She is noticeably more relaxed, optimistic, and open to casual conversation. On one occasion, she even translated Julius’ gruff “Hmph” as a sign that Aiden was welcome among the Ace Hunters. During her time with the Caravan, Nadia also struck up a friendly rapport with Gemma, the budding blacksmith, showing a warmer and personable side.
