MH Outlanders to Finally Have a Playable Public Demo at TGS 2025

Mobile Hunters won’t have to wait much longer to get their hands on Capcom and Tencent’s mobile spin-off. Tencent’s global brand Level Infinite confirmed that Monster Hunter Outlanders will make its first public playable demo at Tokyo Game Show 2025. Japan’s biggest gaming event itself will be running from September 25 to 28 at Makuhari Messe Convention Center in Chiba. Previously, Tencent has ran a Chinese-exclusive closed beta in August 2024. But this will be the first time global players can actually go hands-on with the open-world hunting game.

During TGS 2025, the Monster Hunter Outlanders demo will be featured at Level Infinite’s booth alongside NIKKE, Delta Force, and Exoborne. Before you start planning your trip, though, if TGS history is anything to go by, you might need preregistration tickets to try the demo. Just ask anyone who lined up for Dragon’s Dogma 2 or Monster Hunter Wilds at Capcom’s booth back in 2023-2024. With that in mind, keep your eyes close to Level Infinite or Monster Hunter Outlanders Japan social media account for details.

Speaking of tickets, the @MHO_Japan account is currently running a TGS 2025 entry giveaway on X. All you need to do is follow the account and repost its giveaway announcement; 50 lucky Hunters could score free passes to the event.

The TGS demo might also be a strong hint at Monster Hunter Outlanders‘ late 2025 release window. Reportedly, Tencent secured the publishing license from China’s National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA) on December 23, 2024, but it comes with a strict deadline. If the game doesn’t launch within 12 months, the license expires, forcing a messy re-submission process through one of the toughest regulators in the industry. A December release would neatly line up with both the NPPA deadline — as well as the end of Wilds‘ 2025 roadmap.

According to the listing on NPPA’s site, Monster Hunter Outlanders is also confirmed to have a PC client. There’s a huge chance that a potential console version will drop down the line.

If that’s true, then TGS 2025 isn’t just a flashy show floor demo for Monster Hunter Outlanders. It’s essentially the final dress rehearsal before the game launches worldwide. Die-hard fans and skeptics alike will be watching closely to see how this open-world mobile experiment lands. Especially after beta testers claimed that the game chugs on the latest iPhone models.
