Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance DLC might’ve taken everyone’s attention. But it’s not the only hunting game making noise at Tokyo Game Show. During Capcom Spotlight just before TGS 2026, TiMi Studio dropped a new Monster Hunter Outlanders trailer featuring the first hunting footage of Ruger Aidal. The showcase stream also gave us a quick glimpse of another playable Dual Blades Adventurer, Haze.
Ruger Aidal was already introduced as Monster Hunter Outlanders‘ original flagship monster. Nevertheless, the new trailer finally shows what the Elder Dragon is capable of. The gleaming wyvern can form the golden crystals on its body into some sort of massive Lance on its wing. The game has already shown that the Hunters have enough trouble dealing with its scorching fireballs. Apparently, giant crystal blades needed to complicate things up as well.
While rather short, the trailer wasn’t all about putting the spotlight only on Ruger Aidal. TiMi also revealed Haze, a new Girros-themed Adventurer armed with Dual Blades. She’s shown hunting a Great Girros for a brief second, then quickly replaced by the Fated Adventurer taking on Azure Rathalos with a Hammer.
Several previously unseen Radiant monsters can briefly be spotted throughout the footage as well. The TGS trailer confirmed that Radiant Odogaron, Radobaan, and Legiana will be joining the launch line-up. Meanwhile, Commander Freya and her Great Sword also make another appearance after being a part of the last Recruitment gacha banner in the third beta. Outside of hunting, the trailer offers additional glimpses at how Hunters will explore Aesoland too.
With this new TGS 2026 trailer, TiMi also announced that Monster Hunter Outlanders has surpassed 5 million global preregistrations across the App Store and Google Play. That milestone unlocks Standard Contracts x5 and 5,000 Zenny for all players. Reaching 10 million registrations will unlock Adventurer Raya, with additional rewards planned at 15 million and 20 million.
Those attending Tokyo Game Show 2026 from September 17 to 21 can try the newly revealed Abyss of Decay area at Capcom’s booth in Hall 7. The roughly 20-minute demo includes solo hunts and exploration using the game’s Craft system. Monster Hunter Outlanders still doesn’t have a release date, but preregistration is open on Android and iOS.
