After months of running three beta tests, Monster Hunter Outlanders has confirmed that it’s officially launching on October 29, 2026. The free-to-play mobile spin-off will finally open the gates to Aesoland worldwide, bringing its open-world exploration to Android and iOS. Preregistration, though, is still open ahead of launch, which will give Hunters bonus items and even Adventurers with each milestone reached.
The release date follows Monster Hunter Outlanders’ major appearance at Tokyo Game Show 2026. Its latest showcase gave us our first proper look at Ruger Aidal, the game’s flagship and original monster. The Elder Dragon is able to unleash sun-like explosions and manipulate its golden crystals to make gigantic lances. Making it one of the more unique additions to Monster Hunter‘s already varied roster.
Monster Hunter Outlanders‘ release date announcement is also marked with a special message from series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto. He described Outlanders as a ‘new take’ on the series specifically built for smartphones, with a range of new features. Tsujimoto added that the game will keep getting post-launch updates as well. “I hear that future updates will also add new monsters and weapon types,” he said in the video. “So please keep an eye on the launch date and all the news that comes after it.”
Producer Dong Huang offered a little more detail about what players can expect on day one. Following the third Closed Beta Test, Huang thanked participants for their feedback and said the team will continue refining the game ahead of release.
“At launch, the original Elder Dragon Ruger Aidal will appear and a new weapon type, Charge Blade, will be added,” Huang said in another Producer’s Message video. “Going forward, we’ll keep expanding the game through updates, with more monsters, weapon types, areas, and Adventurer companions.”
Ruger Aidal and Charge Blade might be locked in for launch, but October 29 is only the beginning for Monster Hunter Outlanders. We’ll see whether Monster Hunter can make the jump to smartphones without losing what makes the hunt tick.
