Monster Hunter Wilds x Street Fighter update didn’t just bring fancy cosmetics. This time around, Capcom has gone the extra mile for this collaboration quest. Once you’ve crafted Akuma armor, you can utilize his Ansatsuken fighting style in hunts. Yep, Capcom basically stealth dropped the 15th weapon type with this event quest. So, are you ready for a taste of a fist weapon by finishing ‘Ultimate Strength’ Monster Hunter Wilds Mission and unlocking Akuma? Let’s get into it!
1. Speak with Quinn in Oilwell Basin to Start ‘Ultimate Strength’ in Monster Hunter Wilds

Like the Mizutsune mission, you need to meet up with somebody first. To trigger the Akuma ‘Ultimate Strength’ Side Mission, you need to head to Oilwell Basin and speak with the Vespae Unit Handler Quinn. She should be standing by near the Smelting Foundry.
She’ll tell you that there was supposed to be an influx of Tempered monsters around the area. But for some reason, the monsters’ trace in Basin ‘dried up overnight.’ Having no lead to investigate this weird happening, Quinn asks you to ask around and track the cause yourself.
2. Listen to the People of Azuz

The best way to know what’s going on is always to ask the locals. Simply go around Azuz and talk with these three people. You can follow the markers on your screen, but the color can be hard to see:
- Lattner: In the middle of Azuz, towards the Everforge stairs.
- Luluru: Near Yabran, in front of some pots.
- Clorolo: At the bottom area, accessible from the Pit Elevator or the huge slope across your Camp.
3. Investigate the Middle Stratum

According to their stories, you should investigate the middle and upper strata of Oilwell Basin. They seem to have seen a person brutalizing the Tempered monsters. Sounds ominous.
For the clue in the middle stratum, head to Area 5. If your Palico said, “Hm? Something smells different…” that means you’re close. Once you reach Area 5, press L2/LT/Shift, and you’ll see a Tempered Rathian carcass. Poor thing might’ve had a run-in with something scary, considering the situation.
4. Investigate the Upper Stratum

Now, for the clues in the upper stratum, go to Area 11. You should find a Tempered Gypceros lying lifeless on top of a mountain of ores. Both were obviously attacked by something, but they seem to have accepted their fate. Most ominous indeed.
Maki often gathers oils near the areas, she might know or have seen something.
5. Talk to Maki in Azuz to Continue the ‘Ultimate Strength’ Mission in Monster Hunter Wilds

Head back to Oilwell Basin Base Camp and pass the Everforge steps. You should find Maki not too far from the giant forge. She said she heard people talking about a person who fought the beasts with ‘bare fists.’ Maki then adds that you should check the lowest part of the Subterrane for this mysterious fighter.
6. Search the Lowest Part of the Subterrane

This time, you want to go to the small passageway between Area 16 and 14. You should hear a booming voice once you reach those places. If you have set up the Area 14: Mining Cave Pop-up Camp, just fast travel there. Then take a left as you exit the spot. At the end of the passageway, you can see that Akuma is just standing there facing a rock wall. Menacingly.
7. Complete the ‘Demonic Strength’ Arena Quest

Your Hunter is amazed at Akuma’s strength; likewise, Akuma can feel your fighting spirit. Nevertheless, he believes beating up those monsters is a justified action as he saw them as threats. He also see the need to beat the butt out of our Hunter just because.
Now we need to prove our strength to the Raging Demon to calm his fists. Sounds easy enough, right? Time to go to the Grand Hub’s Quest Counter and take a look at the new Arena Quest you just got.
How to Play Akuma and Beat the Tempered Ajarakan Arena Quest

This quest is the final step to complete the ‘Ultimate Strength’ Side Mission and unlock Akuma in Monster Hunter Wilds. Still, you might’ve realized something shocking. The ‘Demonic Strength’ Arena Quest allows one player only. But don’t panic!
You’re given nine carts for this quest — and truth be told, this ★3 Tempered Ajarakan is weaker than usual. Sure, it still hits hard, but it seems to have less health and KO threshold from our experiences.
For your first clear, we recommend just focusing on attacking using the weapon you’re most familiar with. Disregard the new Assisted Combo and Gou Hadoken for now. The game will give you a barrage of tutorial pop-ups for Akuma’s mechanics but it can be overwhelming. Besides, after you’ve completed this quest, you will have more opportunities to play around with it. You can retry ‘Demonic Strength’ as often as you’d like, and unlocked the 2-player ‘True Strength’ Arena Quest.
Following that — or if you decided to just roll with the Satsui no Hado — then here are some tips you should remember.
- Always equip Gou Hadoken from the Item Bar first. It acts as a Slinger ammo and can be spammed as a decent ranged attack.
- Gou Hadoken can be charged for the Heavy version, dealing twice the damage.
- It can also save you from Ajarakan’s grab; shoot it in the eyes.
- Always set your Item Bar to highlight the Assisted Combo: Akuma. Otherwise, you cannot perform the attacks:
- Square/X/E x3: Light Punch > Light Kick > Heavy Gou Hadoken.
- Square/X/E into Triangle/Y/Left Mouse x3: Medium Punch > Viscera Piercer > OD Adamant Flame punch combos.
- Square/X/E into Circle/B/Right Mouse x3: Heavy Kick > Medium Kick > OD Tatsumaki Zanku-kyaku kick combos.
- Combos can be mixed and matched with all three inputs.
- Set the Drive Impact to an empty Radial Menu slot. Switching between Assisted Combo and Drive Impact in the Item Bar can be confusing. Separate both button inputs to streamline your combos.
- Drive Impact has an Offset property and can be used to parry attacks.
- Just remember it’ll take around 8 seconds for the Drive bar to fill up again once used.
- Parrying Ajarakan’s rolling body slam will still inflict huge chip damage and Blastblight.
- Use Drive Impact at a wound to perform Shun Goku Satsu. This special move deals huge damage and topples the monster. Although sometimes your target might not fall down if you break red wounds.
- Drive Impact has a faster cooldown when used for Shun Goku Satsu.
- Akuma has the Shoryuken uppercut, but not as a part of the Assisted Combo movelist. It’s a gesture called SF6 Gou Shoryuken instead.
- Use the gesture as your combo ends, and it will turn into OD Gou Shoryuken. Dealing much bigger damage.
- Just like Drive Impact, slot it into a Radial Menu for faster input.
- All of Akuma’s attacks have stun properties, so make sure to aim at the head!
- The Ashura Senku dodge has invincibility frame and can be performed after every punch/kick. Making it a great mobility and evasion option.
- Most of Ajarakan’s attacks can be easily dodged by timing Ashura Senku after a punch.
- The Arena Quest also provides you with Ration, Max Potion, Demon Powder, and Shock Trap. Don’t be afraid to use them as they won’t be consumed from your inventory.
7. Speak to Akuma Again to Complete the ‘Ultimate Strength’ Mission of Monster Hunter Wilds

With the Tempered Ajarakan beaten, Akuma declares this test to be over. Our Hunter’s conviction for the hunt seems to remind him of Ryu’s strength to reject Satsui no Hado. The Raging Demon then left the Forbidden Lands but not before bearing gifts.
You can now forge Akuma armor and obtain a themed Hunter Profile background, nameplate, and pose. However, you will need these materials for the armor and use the Assisted Combo: Akuma at its full potential:
- SF6 Ticket x5.
- Ajarakan Scale+ x3.
- Ajarakan Jewel+ x1.
- 25,000 Zenny.
Meanwhile, for the Blanka-Chan Palico armor, you’ll need SF6 Ticket x2 and Ajarakan Scale+ x2. You might be done with the ‘Ultimate Strength’ Side Mission, but the hunt never ends in Monster Hunter Wilds. You might need to run the Arena Quest three to four times more to collect all the Tickets. Don’t worry though, it gets easier the more you play it!
