Not long ago, Capcom shared the news that Monster Hunter: World has sold over 30 million copies. Many might have already expected this, but the truth is that it is a big deal, given the fact that World is Capcom’s best-selling game.
The really surprising thing about World is how many players continue to play it, even with Wilds out. As many know, the latest mainline installment hit a few lows during its launch, which drove a few players away. However, it has slowly built its reputation up, with several Free Updates that have added some of the best encounters in the series. Now, people are hyped for Ascension, which is set to launch sometime in 2027.
Speaking of which, many players are hoping that Wild‘s upcoming expansion will reach the same heights as Iceborne, which is also considered one of the best expansions for any Monster Hunter game. Yet, that is a really high bar to surpass, but given how Capcom has been launching several successful games with almost no hiccups or bad reviews lately, we can expect that Ascension will be just as great. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait long, as there are several gaming shows on the horizon, and we expect Capcom to give us news of this monumental expansion that, by the looks of its reveal trailer, looks better than ever.
