How To Get Grass Seed in Grounded 2 (& Best Farming Location)

Many resources in Grounded 2 are easy to get, and at some points, even a bit obvious in terms of how to obtain them. However, some are a bit more challenging to get and, in some cases, are not that easy to find, especially with how small your character is compared to their surroundings. One of the materials that tends to be quite the brain-teaser for many Grounded 2 players is Grass Seed, and while it isn’t the most important resource out there, getting it is crucial, especially if you want to progress through the main story. Here, we’ll show you where to get it and the best farming locations.

Easiest Way to Get Grass Seed in Grounded 2

This might be like the most evident and brain-dead advice, but look up. To find Grass Seed, you need to locate Grass Plants that have Seeds on top of them. If you don’t see any of them from the ground level, you can find a root and stand on top of it to locate them.

These plants resemble wheat, and if you find one, chances are you’ll get three to four Seeds whenever you cut one down. Fortunately, you only need a Tier 1 Omni-Axe to cut down Grass Seed Plants, so if you find one, swing away.

Like other items in the game, Grass Seeds will fall on the ground and start rolling away from you. If that happens, make note of where they fall, or if you already have a rideable Buggy, activate their gathering mode to collect Grass Seeds faster.

The easiest way to farm Grass Seeds in Grounded 2 is by sticking to the two starting areas, which are the Snackbar Front and Entrance. You’ll be able to find a lot of Grass Seed Plants just south of the picnic table at the Snackbar Front. If you haven’t explored the picnic table yet, then another location is northwest of the first Ranger Outpost, which you should visit during the main story. Remember that these plants spawn after a few days, so if you really need a lot of Grass Seeds, you can just cut down all the plants, go to bed, and repeat the process a few days later. However, Grass Seeds don’t have a lot of uses aside from the ones we’ll mention below.

Recipes that Require Grass Seed

The first and most important item that will need Grass Seeds in Grounded 2 is the Omni-Shovel I. This is part of the story, so chances are you’re stuck on this objective, which, don’t worry, happens to all of us. To unlock the Omni-Shovel, you’ll need the following:

  • Science x350
  • Grass Seed x1
  • Sprig x2

Once you unlock that function for your Omni-Tool, you can start digging some treasure and Grub, among other things pertaining to the game’s critical route.

Besides that, you can also use Grass Seed to craft the Green Machine smoothie at the Smoothie Station. For that, you’ll need these resources:

  • Slime Mold Stalk x1
  • Grass Seed x1
  • Clover Leaf x1
  • Grub Sludge x1

As a recommendation, it is always good to have at least 10 Grass Seeds in your base, especially for your smoothie-making needs. Other than that, it isn’t a vital resource, especially if you’ve already unlocked the Omni-Shovel.
