Call it a toxic relationship or some form of gaming Stockholm syndrome, but if there is one monster players want to see in almost every Monster Hunter installment, and that includes Wilds, it is Bazelgeuse. Despite this, aptly dubbed the B-52 Bomber, being a thorn on many hunters’ sides, it has been at the top of the wishlist of every title, and with Wilds‘ expansion on the way, we all want to see this explosive hunt once more.
Ascendance Could Be the Perfect Moment to Bring Back Bazelgeuse
I have to admit that I’m also part of the “bring back Bazelgeuse” crew, and there is a perfectly justifiable reason for that. See, when I first faced Bazelgeuse back in World, this flying behemoth kicked my butt and made me question my build’s feasibility, whether my skills were as honed as I thought, and just made me wonder if I had been playing the game correctly. However, that moment of blaming my Palico and myself quickly changed to a more positive reaction.
See, Bazelgeuse by itself isn’t really tough. The fight can be pretty straightforward, as long as you have some Fire RES and know what parts to cut, you’re good. However, the randomness it added to other fights made everything so much more memorable.
Whenever you were fighting another monster, it was almost guaranteed that Bazelgeuse would stop by and drop a few bombs on top of you. While other monsters are easy to avoid, it was almost impossible to run away from this Wyvern, and yes, at first, this made things a bit annoying. Yet, it became such a staple of this monster that it made that lack of randomness in Wilds a bit strange for some of us veteran hunters.
The reason why I said I understand how many players feel about Bazelgeuse is that it is, in fact, one of the greatest monsters in the series’ lineup and one that would be a superb addition to Wilds‘ expansion. Many of us have seen just how deadly Capcom has made some classic monsters, and we have also seen how the developers have pushed the fighting mechanics to a whole new level. So, the comeback of everyone’s favorite B52 Bomber would just be amazing.

The only thing many of us dread is whether we are getting a Tempered version or worse. But let’s face it: we also kind of want to see that happen. Even with the PTSD we have, we all want to fight against this Wyvern again, which we can only hope brings something new to the fray, and hopefully, the same armor set, as it is one of the most beloved in the series.
