Looks like the end of the year’s about to get real sticky. Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter Wilds‘ Title Update 4 drops on December 16, 2025, bringing back one of the nastiest Elder Dragons to ever slime up the battlefield: Gogmazios. Alongside the returning beast, TU4 will roll out the Winter Festival of Accord, expanded endgame content, and the long-awaited performance improvements. For PC players still struggling to keep their rigs from melting, this might finally be the best time to jump back into the hunt.
The hulking Gogmazios first debuted in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate on the 3DS. Covered in thick, oily tar that it could ignite into fiery explosions, Gogmazios was known for turning arenas into blackened infernos. Between running around to use Cannons, Dragonator, and Demolisher, veterans remember it as one of the most chaotic, yet cinematic Elder Dragon raids ever designed.

In Wilds, Capcom has completely reimagined the fight with a dual-element phase system. In TU4, Gogmazios will shift weaknesses mid-battle; Fire when drenched in tar, and Dragon once that coating burns away. Director Yuya Tokuda recommended that players to bring two elements, as it probably works similar to the Omega and Nerscylla Clone crossover encounter.
To match its enormous power, Tokuda said it’s also adding a new Armor Augmentation feature. Hunters will finally be able to push their Armor defenses past the usual limits. He even warned players to ‘save up a lot’ of Armor Spheres, hinting that TU4 Gogmazios won’t pull any punches.
Finally, as mentioned before, PC Hunters will just might get some relief. The team promised TU4 will include major CPU and GPU optimizations, for smoother frame rates and fewer crashes. Between the quality-of-life upgrades and an Elder Dragon finally returning, December’s looking like peak hunting season. Of course, we can’t forget about the upcoming Winter Festival of Accord as well.
