Monster Hunter Wilds Hammer Becomes the ‘Strongest Weapon’ After Players Discover Infinite Sliding Glitch

Many Hammer users are not impressed by the lack of updates given in the series’ latest entry. Even compared to its cousin the Hunting Horn, it failed to catch up in DPS and new movesets. However, some Monster Hunter Wilds players have found a way to show off it’s true potential through the Infinite Sliding glitch.

A link to an anonymous footage showcasing the glitch was shared by a Japanese X user @Selphish360. “What on earth is going on lol,” he wrote on his companion post. But this glitch is not exclusive to Hammer alone; Sword and Shield can also utilize it for infinite Falling Bash.

According to @Selphish360, the Infinite Sliding trick seems to be performed by exploiting the Azuz’s Greeting gesture. If you repeatedly use the gesture, your Hunter’s body will keep tilting forward and eventually allows them to glide across the ground. As if the whole flat terrain becomes slopes because of the screwed up standing position. The gesture itself can be obtained from completing the ‘Troublemakers’ Side Mission.

“By the way, it seems that they are using a bug from Azuz’s Greeting [gesture],” @Selphish360 explained on X. “[The character]’s body will tilt like Michael Jackson, and that’s how they slide [infinitely].”

The Infinite Sliding glitch quickly made waves across social media and Monster Hunter Wilds forums. Especially among many anonymous users in Japanese forum 5channel.

“Human Uragaan,” commented one 5channel user.

“This has got to be why Olivia can kill the monkey before our character,” replied another, commenting how fast the Support Hunter can defeat an Ajarakan in one of the main quests.

“I’m glad that the Hammer has become the strongest as many said it’s weak multiple times,”
added one user. “I’m sure everyone is happy with this.”

“Surely the gesture will be removed comes Monday,” said another.

“I laughed at a video of someone flying into space using a gesture bug lol,” wrote another anonymous user referring to another glitch. “I imitated it and flew in the sky and saw the beautiful scenery. I hope they implement flying someday.”

Before you try this though, keep in mind that once you use the Monster Hunter Wilds Infinite Sliding glitch, it can’t be stopped. You’ll be stuck in the spinning or falling animation forever, unable to complete the quest. Unless your target monster is foolish enough to walk into you, like that poor Chatacabra in the video.
