Gogmazios, Gacha Charms, and More: 7 Things You Should Expect in MH Wilds Title Update 3

Title Update 2 featuring Lagiacrus and Seregios launches on June 30th, but Capcom has dropped some hints for future updates. But even before the King of the Seas surfaces, internet sleuths have also took to their own hands to reveal even more juicy info. From returning monsters and Elder Dragons to more gacha mechanics and long-overdue performance tweaks, the next TU is shaping up to be something big. Here’s what we currently know what’s coming in Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 3 on the end of September.

1. Elder Dragon Gogmazios Could be Added to Monster Hunter Wilds with Title Update 3

In terms of challenging fight, rest assured that Arch-Tempered Nu Udra will be dropped in the next TU. But, while not officially confirmed, fans have uncovered plenty of hints suggesting the Elder Dragon Gogmazios might be making its return in Title Update 3. His unique Tarred status effect, called ‘HEAVY_OIL’ in the files, was spotted as far back as the Open Beta build.

Known for its hulking dark mass and tar-spewing attacks, Gogmazios is a siege-style Elder Dragon first introduced in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. Its body leaks oil that it can explode, turning any battlefield into a chaotic inferno. Unlike traditional monsters, it must be fought in a large fortress-style arena, where Hunters must use siege weapons like cannons and Dragonators to bring it down.

However, according to reliable dataminer RoseKaedae‘s source, Gogmazios may not be the final pick. Their source just said that Title Update 3 would be something ‘big.’

2. Additional Gacha Mechanic Through RNG Charm for the Endgame

Capcom has confirmed that Title Update 3 will add a new endgame activity with unique quest rewards. By completing a ‘new level of difficulty’ quests, you can get materials to craft randomized Talismans or Charms. The Talisman will come with variety of both Weapon and Armor Skills, along with randomized Decoration slots.

If Gogmazios is indeed coming in Wilds, it could play a similar role to Safi’Jiiva or Kulve Taroth. Given Title Update 3’s new RNG Talisman plan, it’s easy to imagine Gogmazios dropping rare materials specifically used to craft or enhance randomized Charms. Wilds will also be the first Monster Hunter game to have both RNG Decos and Charms If Capcom really went through with this decision. Gacha Decorations debuted in World, while Rise and older games only randomized Charm drops.

3. Could Zinogre and an Event Monster Also Come in Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 3?

Zinogre has been a fan-favorite since its debut in Portable 3rd for PSP — and dataminers think it’s on the way back. Though there are no files that mentioned its inclusion, a reliable prerelease leaks say the lightning pupper was already made but intentionally removed. A new model was also made for the series’ 20th anniversary wallpaper. There’s a huge possibly that Capcom will reuse this model for a Wilds version.

Speaking of monsters, dataminers also discovered two mysterious entries: em_0166 and em_1165. Em_0166, found in both the Benchmark build and the full game, is a brand new monster ID. Usually, returning monsters like Zinogre will use the same ‘species data’ between games, but this one only have placeholder is marked as ‘INVARID.’ Some speculate it could be crossover monster just like World‘s Behemoth and Leshen. Because it comes with a Rarity 8 armor set, complete male and female version, and ID slot that’s placed after all other monsters including Gogmazios.

Meanwhile, Em_1165 appears to be a brand-new small monster ID, possibly tied to siege areas or unrevealed content. It’s anyone’s guess for now, but it all adds to the intrigue of Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 3 monster lineup.

4. The Long-Awaited Performance Improvement

Title Update 2 brings some technical upgrades, including reduced VRAM usage and more accurate memory reporting in the Settings menu. These optimizations will continue into Title Update 3, with Capcom promising ongoing improvements in stability and performance. Fingers crossed this finally fixes Wilds‘ PC woes — just like how World finally runs flawlessly a few weeks after its initial rough PC launch.

“We are also working on various improvements and adjustments, including improving usability and game stability. We will continue to work on through these updates. Title Updates, excluding bug fixes and other updates, will be implemented every few months, as with the first and second updates.”

5. Keep Farming Artian Weapons, You’ll Need Them for Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 3 and Beyond

With Title Update 2 giving buffs and adding Layered Weapons, there’s really no reason to not farm Artian weapons. Capcom says its working on ways to keep these weapons ‘remain valuable’ throughout the upcoming updates. In fact, given their unique upgrades and potential synergy with the upcoming Charm system, Artian weapons may become really even stronger. We hope you like RNG in your Monster Hunter!

6. More Weapon Buffs are Coming Soon, and There Won’t Be Any Nerfs

Before Title Update 2 launches, Capcom have buffed Hammer; upping its damage and giving it Offset finisher. But more are coming in August for Dual Blades, Hunting Horn, Lance, Light Bowgun, and Heavy Bowgun.

This time, the company plans to reduce the power gap between weapons by boosting underperformers. Capcom emphasized that there will be ‘no nerfs’ — only buffs. Sounds great in our book and we can’t wait for the patch notes for them.

7. Monster Hunter Title Update 4 Will Launch This Winter

Even with all the Title Update 3 excitement, Capcom has confirmed that Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 4 is scheduled for release this winter. Expect at least one new monster, Arch-Tempered Jin Dahaad, and a ramped-up ‘challenging elements.’

Details remain scarce — and some stuff mentioned here could be pushed back to Title Update 4. But if Title Update 3 is anything to go by, fans can expect a steady cadence of intense hunts.
