How Mushroomancer Works & Its Effects in Monster Hunter Wilds

In Monster Hunter Wilds, not all heals or buffs come from Potions or meals, in some cases, they can come from eating literal mushrooms. The Mushroomancer skill turns common fungi into instant consumables without the slow drinking animation. It’s one of the most flexible utility skills in the game, perfect for players who want cheaper and faster recovery or play as support.

Mushroomancer lets you eat Mushroom items, which are normally inedible and only used as crafting materials. Eating them will give healing effects or useful buffs not unlike consuming normal Potion items.

This Armor Skill pairs well with Wide-Range and Free Meal, letting you heal teammates and keeping your Item Pouch stocked. Speed Eating can be used as well, but it’s not particularly necessary as eating Mushrooms is much faster than drinking Potions or using Lifepowders already.

You can carry up to 10 Mushrooms each; add them with Mega Potions, Max Potions, Lifepowders, you can support fellow Hunters hundreds of time. This is extremely useful to keep your Tank healed up when running Omega Planetes quests.

While other weapon mains can utilize this Skill just fine, it’s more recommended for Sword and Shield users. As they can quickly consume items even with their weapon unsheathed by pressing R2+X / RT+A / CTRL+E.

Since buffs now run on a timer instead of disappearing when you cart, there’s no need to stay in full Level 3 Mushroomancer gear. Just pop your buff mushrooms at a Camp, then swap back to your main set while keeping a single piece with Mushroomancer 1 if you still want access to basic heals.

  • Mushroomancer Lv 2: Adds Nitroshrooms and Parashrooms.
  • Mushroomancer Lv 3: Adds Mandragoras, Devil’s Blight, and Exciteshrooms.

You can find Mushroomancer in five different armor sets. If you’re looking to slot a Decoration for it, keep in mind Mushroomancer is a Level 2 Decorations. Unlike in World, this support/defensive skill is no longer a Level 1 Deco and now much more expensive.
