How To Get Weed Stems in Grounded 2 (& Best Farming Location)

Grounded 2 is brimming with resources, and while some are right there for the picking, a few others need some extra work and a bit of luck to find. Some of the most vital ones, especially when it comes to base-building and station-crafting, are Weed Stems, which you can only get from a few specific plants in Grounded 2. If you’re struggling to find a good spot to get them or don’t know where to obtain this material at all, this guide should help you.

Where To Find Weed Stems in Grounded 2

Weed Stems in Grounded 2 come from Dandelion Plants. These plants should be easy to locate due to the Dandelion Tufts that rest on top of them. And while you can use Tufts to glide when exploring, you might be more interested in the stem that drops once you cut down this plant.

While Dandelion Plants aren’t as common as grass or dry grass, that doesn’t mean they are impossible to find. If you want to farm Weed Stems, you should head to the Picnic Table inside the Entrance area. There, you can find a lot of Dandelion Plants on the southeast corner of the picnic table. There are a few roaches, spiderlings, and you might even find a scorpion, but if you do your farming quickly, chances are you won’t even face these Buggies at all.

You only need your Omni-Axe I to farm Weed Stems, so that means you can start grabbing this material as soon as you finish the tutorial. However, there’s a catch. Weed Stems are similar to Grass Planks in the sense that your character has to carry them in their hand and can only hold five at a time. Yet, there’s one way to keep a large stock of Weed Stems at your base.

Once you unlock the idea, you can craft a Stem Pallet to place all your Weed Stems there. One neat thing about this object is that, as long as it is close to your base, you can use the stored Stems to build structures, meaning you don’t have to carry the Weed Stems around all the time.

Lastly, Weed Stems have a lot of applications in Grounded 2, and here we’ve made a list of all the things that require this material:

  • Windowed Grass Wall
  • Grass Door
  • Hatchery
  • Ant Nest
  • Sap Catcher
  • Triangle Bracket Scaffold
  • Stem Scaffold
  • Triangle Scaffold
  • Bracket Scaffold
  • Door Frame
  • Sturdy Door
  • Stem Wall
  • Windowed Stem Wall
  • Triangle Stem Wall
  • Stem Gable
  • Grass Stairs
  • Grass Half Stairs
  • Corner Grass Stairs
  • Half Corner Grass Stairs
  • Int. Corner Grass Stairs
  • Half Int. Corner Grass Stairs
  • Garden Patch

As you can see, Weed Stems is useful for building structures and base pieces, with only a few stations requiring this material. However, given the challenges of obtaining it, we recommend doing some farming ahead of time and always bringing a few Stems to your new base.
