5 Monsters We’d Like to See in Monster Hunter Wilds Free Title Update 2

Ask anyone, and they’ll tell you that a Monster Hunter game is only as good as the monsters in its lineup. Naturally, this applies to Monster Hunter Wilds, too. While we’ve already seen a few colossal creatures arriving in recent updates, Wilds still has more to give, or so we hope. For that reason, we’ve made a quick wishlist of the monsters we’d love to see in the Free Title Update 2 for Monster Hunter Wilds. Also, we omitted Lagiacrus because we are 99.99% sure it will return. Please, Capcom, do not troll us.

5. Kirin

Let’s start with one of the most gorgeous monsters on the list: Kirin. This one has always had a special place in my heart, especially after I met it for the first time in Monster Hunter World. It is uncertain if it will make it to the Free Title Update 2 of Monster Hunter Wilds, but dreaming doesn’t hurt. After all, we need another lightning-based monster in Wilds. Can you imagine a fight between Kirin and Rey Dau? Yeah, that would obliterate the land around them and probably a few GPUs, too.

4. Teostra

Teostra is one of the monsters with whom I have a love/hate relationship. On the one hand, I love its design. Everything is so cool about this creature, and it was one of the best fights in Monster Hunter World (don’t judge me, World was my first mainline game). However, fighting it can be highly frustrating yet rewarding. If it arrives in Wilds, it already has a perfect location to spawn and reduce all hunters to cinders. Even if I might regret saying this, I’d love to see its Tempered version. Yes, that’s how crazy I am.

3. Rajang

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne gave us some of the best post-launch monsters ever, and Rajang was one of those. It even appeared in Monster Hunter Rise, so I believe it is a perfect fit for the Free Title Update 2 of Monster Hunter Wilds. In truth, I have nothing nice to say about this monster other than I love its design. Why did I place it in the third spot of the list, then? Because we desperately need a shot of difficulty, and if someone can do it, it is Rajang. We’ve all been complaining about how easy Wilds feels. Well, if Rajang truly comes to the game, heed my words; we’ll be asking for nerfs in just a couple of days.

2. Bazelgeuse

You can call my a lunatic for asking Capcom to bring baguette, I mean, B52 Bomber, I mean, Bazelgeuse to Monster Hunter Wilds Free Title Update 2, but I kind of miss it. It is one of the monsters that I never thought I’d remember fondly. I will never forget the first time its bombs fell on top of me and carted me in seconds. I will also never forget the subsequent times and how I constantly failed its quest. Yet, the fact that it was so challenging made me a better hunter and taught me the virtue of patience. Not really. I still get angry when fighting it, but I also think that many would love good old Bazelgeuse in MH: Wilds.

1. Nergigante

You know this one was going to be at the top spot, didn’t you? Our beloved Nergigante. I really don’t know what happens with Monster Hunter players who come to love some of the most challenging creatures in the series. A player could easily break their keyboard after facing a Master Rank Nergigante and call it “beloved” as soon as the fight ends. Yeah, that’s me, too. Fighting Nergigante has always been amazing, and we really need more flying creatures in Wilds. I really hope Nergigante makes it to the game. While I doubt it might come as part of an FTU, let’s hope that the expansion brings this bad boy home.

He has spent more hours than he can count fighting Uth Duna, and will continue to do so until that gem drops. When not playing Monster Hunter, you'll find him in his favorite game ever: FFXIV or trying to add more mods to Project Zomboid.
