Monster Hunter Wilds: Rarity 6 Special Items ‘Explorer of the Eastlands’ Achievement Guide

Hunting monsters might be the core of Monster Hunter Wilds, but gathering rare items can be just as rewarding. Scattered throughout the Forbidden Lands are a collection of special, high-rarity materials waiting to be discovered. These items can be useful as bargaining chips when you’re about to trade rare items with villagers. If you’re aiming to 100% the game, you also need to collect at least 10 out of 11 of these elusive Rarity 6 Special Items. Doing so will unlock the ‘Explorer of the Eastlands’ Achievement. Below is everything you need to know to track them down efficiently.

All Rarity 6 Special Items and Their Locations for the ‘Explorer of the Eastlands’ Achievement

To earn the ‘Explorer of the Eastlands’ Achievement, you must gather at least 10 of the following rare items. Eight of them are exclusively available during Emergence Events, while others can only be found under specific environmental conditions.

Emergence Events are temporary occurrences in different biomes that will yield special, rare materials. These events spawn randomly during specific seasons, but you can cycle their appearances by resting at a Camp.

We suggest you also check the Forecast screen from the World Map often. That section will tell you any change that’s happening around the environment in the next 50 minutes. Below are the special items exclusive to these events:

‘Explorer of the Eastlands’ Items Found Outside of Emergence Events

Not all Rarity 6 Special Items require an Emergence Event. A few are found in specific locations under unique conditions in the Scarlet Forest. These items include:

  • Nightflower Pollen: Spawns only at night and only during a Full Moon. Look for gathering nodes labeled Ephemeral Blossom.
  • Queensbloom Pollen: Can be found at any time of day. Look for gathering nodes labeled Queen Rafflesia.

Remember that you can quickly check and mark gathering nodes for a waypoint. Open the hunting area Map and press the right D-pad or the D key on PC. Navigate to ‘Filter Icons’ option, the one with the herb icon, and press X/A/Left Click. Scroll down the materials and Endemic Life list until you find the rare gathering node.

Wyvernsprout, The Odd One Out

The final Rarity 6 item on for the ‘Explorer of the Eastlands’ Achievement is Wyvernsprout, which doesn’t have a traditional gathering node like the others. Instead, it has a random chance of appearing from Carrion Mushroom on rotting monster corpses.

Yes, you got that right. Wyvernsprout will eventually grow from both Large and Small Monster carcasses. However, killing every Small Monster you see left and right won’t always yield said item. Only carcasses that turn moldy will grow Carrion Mushroom that can be gathered for a Wyvernsprout; others will just turn into bonepiles. Since monsters will hunt and be hunted offscreen, always keep an eye out on their remains whenever you’re hunting down other rare items!
