Best Dual Blades Build for Monster Hunter Wilds

By Julio La Pine on March 6, 2025 Guides, Monster Hunter Wilds

As the fastest weapon in Monster Hunter Wilds, the Dual Blades are unmatched in many ways. They are the best when it comes to applying status effects, and the new changes in Wilds are highly beginner-friendly. Yet, if you want to make the most out of them, you’ll need the right setup. For that reason, we’ve prepared a couple of builds for Dual Blades that will help you during your Low Rank and High Rank hunts.

Low Rank Builds

Like many other Low Rank builds, this one will carry you until you see the credits roll. However, you’ll have to wait quite a while to obtain the one armor set that makes this build shine. We’re talking about the Guardian Ebony set, which appears almost at the end of the campaign. Still, it is great as it provides you with the Burst skill, which is the one Dual Blades need the most.

Barina Build

We’ll use the Barina Faucilles for this build due to the Paralyzing effect. Just having your Dual Blades will be enough to paralyze any monster quickly. However, we’ll also add more DPS skills to make your damage go even higher. The main skill, Burst, will come from the Guardian Ebony set. As long as this is active, the more attacks you land, the more raw and elemental damage you’ll do. The Foray skill will come from the Talisman, and it will increase the damage you do to paralyzed targets. Since you’ll be applying that status left and right, your DPS should rise quickly.

Keep in mind that this is one of the Dual Blades builds that can also work in High Rank if you replace the equipment for a better one once you unlock Rarity 5 and above. However, we decided to focus on a more raw-DPS build for HR players.

High Rank Builds

The Frenzied build is a high-stakes one, as it requires you to be infected with the Frenzy virus, cure yourself, and then increase your affinity for doing damage. For this, you’ll need a few difficult materials, but hey, Monster Hunter is all about grinding, right? Assuming you don’t mind fighting Gore Magala over and over, you’ll be fine. Probably.

Attack Boost

This one will likely be one of the most used builds for Dual Blades, especially since it can make use of the Frenzied virus better when recovered from it, of course. Since you’ll have an affinity boost for a while, a weapon with fast attacks will work better, as you can land even more buffed hits. That is why the Gore Set is so important. It will give you the virus, and once cured, your Affinity will go up.

For the weapon, we recommend the best Artian one, but you can use any Rarity 6 or 7 Artian weapon if you don’t have enough materials for the Rarity 8. In terms of elements, this is a flex spot, but if you really want to add one, Dragon and Thunder are always useful. Yet, we recommend sticking to raw damage.

The skills you’ll be getting through your Talisman and Jewels focus on DPS boosts, like Attack Boost, Critical Eye, and Critical Boost. However, if you have enough deco slots, you can add a few that boost your survivability, such as Earplugs or Free Meal.

Ultimately, this build is all about curing your Frenzied state first and hitting the enemy as much as possible. It is a high-risk, high-reward build, but one that pays off with some practice. Furthermore, you don’t have to combine parts from different armor sets, so you’ll only have to grind one monster. What’s the downside? That this monster isn’t the easiest out there, so always bring a few brings or call in some NPCs to help.
