When setting up meals for the buffs, have you ever looked at the sizzling meat and wished you could take a bite? Well, you don’t have to daydream about them anymore, because PlayStation is here to help. Celebrating Monster Hunter Wilds upcoming release, the official PlayStation Japan X account @PlayStation_jp shared a simple but mouthwatering recipe inspired by the game’s campfire menu. Using just three basic ingredients it recreated one of the dishes you can cook and fans can’t get enough of it.
Do you want to serve it up as your weekend meal? Well, you’re in luck, as the ingredients and cooking process is as easy and straightforward as it is delicious:
- Thick-cut bacon blocks serve as the base, replacing the in-game mystery Meat.
- Droolmushrooms, a forageable ingredient from Wilds, are substituted with fresh champignon mushrooms.
- A generous drizzle of your favorite honey stands in for Wilds‘ Eastern Honey for that final touch of sweetness.

To cook, simply toss the bacon into a cast iron pan and let it sizzle over a fire for a bit. Once the bacon start to turn color, throw in some chopped mushrooms you’ve prepared beforehand. When they have turned golden brown and crispy, pour on the honey, letting it coat the smoky, savory mix. The final result? A campfire meal that looks straight out of Windward Plains Base Camp!
The Monster Hunter Wilds menu recreation X post quickly caught the attention of hungry fans. Comments flooded in, calling the video ‘food terrorism,’ a Japanese term for food porn.
“Just when I was thinking about what to make for lunch,” wrote @force_vampire.
“It’s simple but absolutely delicious!” wrote @uE1uUiI9ckJ7H1s. “I guess I’m having it for a dinner on the 28th!”
User @USA45957973 even tried replicating it before and plans to use bacon blocks this time around. “I’ve already tried making it over and over, but it has to be bacon, huh. After watching this recipe I’m making it again lol.”
Monster Hunter Wilds will launch on February 28, and will come with more than just meat for your hunting menu. The beta has shown that we can combine sardine-like fish and cabbage with shrimps, wild herbs, and chili peppers. What will Capcom add for the full release and will we be able to recreate them too, we wonder?
