MH Wilds Players Discover What Actually Happens After a Cart and Now They Feel Bad: ‘Our Ambulance Palico Needs a Raise’

Every Monster Hunter player knows the pain of carting. One moment you’re dodging Rathalos‘s fireballs, and the next, you’re waking up at camp, spirit crushed and dignity in shambles. Thankfully, your Felyne friends are ready to drag your unconscious body back to safety. In Monster Hunter Wilds, it’s none other than Medy, the Palico paramedic that’s always on stand by near the Support Desk. But as players recently discovered, he’s been working way harder than we thought.

Most hunters assumed that after dropping them off at the nearest Pop-up Camp, Medy simply teleports to Base Camp. But as seen in the video below, it’s far from the truth!

After dutifully hauling hunters to the closest Camp and reviving them with a jug of Potion, Medy immediately sprints back to the Base Camp. This little detail that Capcom put in the game is impressive, and now players can’t help but feel bad for never appreciating Medy’s hard work.

So, unlike the Palico Artist, Meowdic doesn't suddenly disappear after doing its job.

zTy01, on Reddit, wrote, “Yea our ambulance palico needs a raise. Can we add another fish to his paycheck?”

“Poor guy must be knackered,” wrote SadP0tat018.

“This guys seriously deserve a seikret of their own,” said draken413o, as players noticed that Medy always had to borrow your Seikret to get you back to safety.

“Imagine the pain she would feel if you fainted as soon as she made it to camp XD,” jest VokunDovah64 in another thread.

“Not to be dramatic, but I would cart for Medy,” wrote Even-March-6943.

Unfortunately, Medy’s athletic feats aren’t consistent across all maps. In Ruins of Wyveria, he simply vanishes behind a Pop-up Camp. Similarly, in Wounded Hollow, he takes a shortcut, blinking out of existence at the arena’s entrance. Even the hardest-working Palico deserves a break sometimes, right?

Nevertheless, Spice_and_Fox pointed out that cart Palicoes should be compensated well for their job — considering the Zenny penalty every time you lost consciousness.

“They are the ones that get 1/3 of your quest money. The lowest rated quests have about 1000z prize money. That means the reward is at least 333z. A well done steak costs 50z.”

Now, the next time you cart in Monster Hunter Wilds, take a moment to salute the paramedic Palico. He deserves those quest reward cuts.
