Many have been waiting for a Zoh Shia rematch after finishing Monster Hunter Wilds‘ Low Rank quests. Nevertheless, it seems they bit off more Well-Done Steak than they can chew. Turns out this Construct monster really was no pushover. Thought you carted one time too many in the ★8 ‘Germination’ quest? You’re not alone; only half of all Hunters survived their first attempt!
Capcom, via its official Monster Hunter Club account, has released a Monster Hunter Wilds report titled ‘The Forbidden Lands Data White Paper Vol.1.’ It offers a closer look at Hunters’ performance since Title Update 1 launched on April 4.
The star of the Title Update 1, High Rank Zoh Shia, proved to be a serious challenge. According to its data, only 48.6% of players cleared the quest on their first attempt! Many seem to have been caught off guard by its devastating flame breath and area-of-effect attacks. Given its extremely limited appearance in the main story quest, it’s no wonder that Hunters came unprepared. Do you remember to drop the rocks after it changed to its second phase?

In stark contrast, the returning fan-favorite Leviathan Mizutsune was a far easier opponent. Despite being a first-time hunt for newcomers, the ‘Spirit in the Moonlight’ mission boasted a whopping 98.4% first-try clear rate!
Still, the much tougher opponent, the battle-hardened Tempered Mizutsune, told a different story. Its first-attempt clear rate plummeted to 74.3%, meaning roughly one in four Hunters carted three times. Most of them might have been victims of the powerful surprise body slam and spinning dash.
For those still struggling to counter its swift movements, Monster Hunter Club recommends a well-timed Flash Pod to stop it in its tracks.

So, were you one of the few Monster Hunter Wilds Hunters who bested Zoh Shia in one go? Or did you get roasted like most of us? Capcom promises it will drop more fun reports like this in the future. Until then, prep your Meals, bring Lifepowders, and always remember: shoot those crystals with Slinger ammo!
