Where to Find Bombardier Beetles in Grounded 2

By now, you should know that fighting Buggies in Grounded 2 is almost inevitable, especially if you want to craft new items. It isn’t the fanciest thing to do, but it is one of the most rewarding. However, not all Buggies are easy to find in the park. The ones that have some of the most vital or most difficult materials to collect tend to hide in the most unexpected places. One of those Buggies is the Bombardier Beetle in Grounded 2, which you’ll need to find to craft some Tier 2 armor and one useful crafting station.

Bombardier Beetle Locations in Grounded 2

While there are some Buggies that spawn almost anywhere on the map of Grounded 2, a few of them, such as the Bombardier Beetle, have specific spawn spots. So far, I’ve discovered two places where they always appear and are relatively safe, at least if you want to fight them without other insects bothering you.

The first spot is next to the Trash Can. You can find this place by following the main story or just by heading southeast in the Entrance area. However, you won’t find this Buggy inside the Trash Can or even inside the poisonous gas clouds. Instead, this Buggy will be roaming south of the Trash Can. It will always spawn in the same location after a few days, making it a great farming spot. Bombardier Beetles do sizzling damage, so bring armor that counters this or just dodge its attacks.

The second spot, which is also easy to reach, assuming you don’t mind fighting a few Scorpions and dodging a Mosquito, is at the top of the picnic table in the Snackbar Front area. You can reach the top of it by climbing on the plastic knife underneath the table. Once you climb it, take a left, and you’ll see the Bombardier Beetle. You can easily take it down without alerting the Mosquito. Just like the one above, it will also spawn after a few days. So, you can farm these two spots, get the materials, and return to your base to do other things before the Buggies respawn.

If you manage to defeat a Bombardier Beetle in Grounded 2, you’ll get either a Boiling Gland, Bombardier Beetle Parts, or all of them if you’re lucky. While it isn’t much, they are quite useful for some crafting recipes, such as the following:

  • Boiling Gland
    • Roach Chestplate
    • Cookery
    • Stuffed Bombardier
  • Bombardier Part
    • Sizzling Robes
    • Sizzling Boots
    • Bombuckler
    • Pine Chair
    • Pine Wall Lamp
    • Jerky Rack
    • Stuffed Bombardier

Out of all the recipes, the Cookery and Bombuckler are the most useful. The former will let you craft better food that provides a lot of buffs for your character, while the latter can burn your foes after performing a perfect block. Furthermore, Bombardier Beetles have parts that unlock some Mage Archetype gear, which is worth pursuing if that’s the playstyle you like.
