One of the most addictive and fun things to do in Monster Hunter Stories 3 is habitat restoration. Beyond helping you to max out a Monstie’s ecosystem rank and obtain new genes, you can also use this system to obtain new elemental combinations and, in some cases, even get powerful Monstie mutations. While most of these Monsties are optional, there are a few you’ll need for some missions, and in this case, we’re talking about the elusive Ivory Lagiacrus. If you’re struggling with how to get one, here is a quick guide to help you find this Monstie.
How To Find a Lagiacrus Egg

Before you even attempt to get an Ivory Lagiacrus, you need to find a base Lagiacrus, but it is easier said than done. Since this one is a rare species, you’ll have to face an invasive Monster, and for Lagiacrus, you need to fight the Invasive Plesioth, which is the monster located in the caves to the north of the lake in Azuria.
Compared to other story-related invasive monsters, this Plesioth is quite challenging, as it hits like a truck and can also charge several attacks to deal more damage. However, the easiest way to beat it is by bringing fire weapons and aiming for its head. During the fight, Rudy will tell you that the monster is gathering water in its head. Hitting it with a fire weapon and breaking the part will halt its attack, forcing it to retreat. We also recommend bringing an armor that’s resistant to water and several fire Monsties to make the encounter go faster.
After you make the Plesioth retreat, all you have to do now is take the Lagiacrus egg from the nest and start restoring the population. Then, to get the Ivory Lagiacrus, you need to get the Lagiacrus ecosystem rank to S, and Ivory Lagiacrus eggs will start appearing. After that, you just need to raise the rank of this new Monstie to S as well, especially if you want to complete the side quest.
The truth is that this particular Monstie can be quite difficult to restore, especially since there aren’t a lot of dens in the Lake area. If you are struggling to find eggs, you can always do Habitat Restoration in a different area to find your Ivory Lagiacrus more easily.
