How to Get a Velocidrome Egg in Monster Hunter Stories 3

While you’ll be able to start your egg-hunting journey as soon as you spread your Ratha’s wings in Azuria, the real challenge will begin with one of the first side quests, which involves a Velocidrome egg. Despite being one of the most common Monsties you’ll face in the game, finding a nest containing one of its eggs is oddly challenging. For that reason, we’ve made a quick guide to show you how to get a Velocidrome egg in Monster Hunter Stories 3.

Where To Find a Velocidrome Egg in Monster Hunter Stories 3

Velocidrome eggs are among the few that you will need to get for a specific quest, in this case, the one called “How to Raise a Velocidrome 1.” This quest requires you to locate a Velocidrome egg and deliver it to the NPC. However, it is easier said than done, as finding this elusive egg can be pretty challenging.

When looking for a Velocidrome egg, your best bet is in the Sunpetal Plains of Azuria. Since all dens are randomly generated, you’ll need to enter every single one you spot until you locate the egg. If you are having trouble locating one, there are two tips that can help you:

  1. You can look for the egg’s color, which is blue with orange dots, and when you grab it, it should say “Bird Wyvern Egg.” You can always hatch one first, so next time you grab an egg, it will say “Velocidrome.”
  2. If you’re still unlucky, use a Paintball when a Velocidrome is at low health, and it will guarantee it to retreat, thus leading you to a nest full of Velocidrome eggs.

Since this is an optional quest, you can leave this until after you unlock the second area, which also opens up a new zone for Velocidrome. However, they are more common in Azuria. Also, if, for whatever reason, these eggs are still proving difficult to find, you can just hatch a few first and raise their ecosystem rank, but that’s a tedious process for a Monstie that almost no one uses in their party.

In any case, once you complete this quest, it will open up a new chain once you get to the second area, so it is worth doing for some of the rewards it gives you.
