How To Get & Equip Mutations in Grounded 2

Mutations are back in Grounded 2, and unlocking them will remind players of some good old RPGs. Well, Obsidian is behind this series, so we couldn’t expect less. Mutations occur whenever you complete a specific objective. Once you get one, you can activate to get a passive bonus on a specific weapon or playstyle. Here, we’ll tell you how to get them and use them, as well as list all the challenges you need to complete in all skill trees.

How To Get Mutations

To unlock Mutations in Grounded 2, you’ll need to perform specific actions. Some involve using weapons, some involve running out of stamina, and so on. However, once you do, you’ll get a few passive skills known as Mutations, which can change how certain items and systems work. Furthermore, you can only equip a couple of mutations, but you can increase that number by finding molars in the game.

To give you an example of how to unlock one Mutation for the Spear skill tree, the first challenge requires you to defeat 40 enemies with a Spear. It doesn’t matter the type of Spear you use, as long as it belongs to that category. When you do that, you’ll see the new Mutation in the menu and can equip it and unequip it whenever you want.
