How to Unlock Seregios and Fight Strategy in Monster Hunter Wilds
Before you can pluck this thorn from the Windward Plains, you’ll need to meet a few key prerequisites first:
- You have to reach HR31.
- You have completed the “A World Turned Upside Down” Main Mission.
If you have completed them, head over to Neby in the middle of the Kunafa Village to start “Kunafa’s Curious Quandary.”
Melee Weapon Strategy
Seregios’s scale-based attacks will tear through health like your armor is made of paper. Once inflicted, Bleed damages you every time you perform every move — rolling, walking, attacking — you name it. With that in mind, always bring Rations, Wild Jerky, Well-done Steak, or Sushifish Scales to heal Bleeding quickly. All of its attacks can also be blocked and Power Guarded, no Guard Up required.
When enraged, Seregios gets faster, combos more often, and throws more scales per attack. You’ll see it leap back before launching a flurry of scale shots, or fly straight up for a devastating corkscrew dive.
Its main strength is its speed, but Seregios’ brittle legs and tail are weak points for cutting and blunt weapons. Blunt users like Hammer, Hunting Horn, or Gunlance’s bonus stagger from shells should aim for the legs. Meanwhile, cutting users like Great Sword and Long Sword should try to cut its tail to lessens its frequency of using scales. That said, Seregios is an extremely mobile wyvern, so baiting it into Traps or using Flash Pods to ground it is essential for staying in control.
Ranged Weapon Strategy
Ranged hunters have the luxury of distance, but Bleed as well as Seregios’s mobility and flying scales still make this fight risky. Stay mobile and dodge frequently as Seregios loves to punish stationary targets.
Like melee users, grounding Seregios with Flash Pods is your best strategy. Seregios is weak to Pierce and Sticky shots, and spamming Sticky Ammo on its legs can create constant knockdowns. Keep a safe distance, manage stamina carefully, and don’t get greedy. As long as you keep it grounded and avoid Bleed, Seregios becomes far less of a threat.
