Today is a big day for Monster Hunter Wilds fans. We got a short but meaningful teaser for the Boosted Actions coming with Ascendance, and the Great Sword was the first one to get the spotlight. While many are excited as they feel they are playing a Monster Hunter version of Dante, some keen-eyed hunters noticed something strange about the new animations. According to some, the new Great Sword moveset might be inspired by some attacks we saw for another weapon back in Rise.
Great Sword Boosted Actions Are Similar to The Ones Hammer Uses
One Reddit user who goes by the name of InvestmentOk5743 shared a short clip of one of the Great Sword Boosted Actions, alongside a Hammer Silkbind Attack from Monster Hunter Rise. As you can see, the skill definitely looks extremely similar, to the point that some players are saying Great Sword is already stealing moves.
Now, before you all think this is something controversial or that looks bad, it seems it is the opposite. Several players, especially Great Sword users, took this in a lighthearted way, focusing more on how cool the new Boosted Actions look instead of calling out Capcom for re-using animations, which, frankly, is completely fine.
“Everything belongs to us; we are the chosen weapon type,” commented one Redditor.
Others even joked about the possibility of the opposite happening, with maybe Hammer stealing some moves from the Great Sword.
“Next reveal: Hammers can true charge smash now.“
So far, it seems people are happy with the direction of Boosted Actions, as they believe they will spice things up during combat. Others are extremely excited, as the short teaser suggests we may be able to chain an offset attack with another, which is something players have been asking for.
In the end, this short clip was more than enough to get players hyped up for the expansion. Furthermore, many are now eager to see what will happen with the other weapons. While we already saw glimpses of how these Boosted Actions will work, players are eager to see a deeper dive, such as the one Capcom released for Great Sword.
