Monster Hunter Wilds’ Free Title Update 1 Brings Gathering Hub, Arena Quests, and More: Here’s Everything Revealed

It’s been a month since Monster Hunter Wilds launched, and Capcom wastes no time in rolling out fresh content with the April Title Update 1. The game’s first free Title Update is dropping on April 4, 2025, introducing Mizutsune, the return of Zoh Shia, and new ways for players to engage with each other. Plus, the seasonal event Festival of Accord: Blossomdance kicks off later in April. Here’s everything coming in this update.

For the first time in Monster Hunter Wilds, the elegant wyvern Mizutsune will make its way into the Scarlet Forest. Hunters at HR21 or higher can unlock this hunt by speaking with Kanya in the Forest’s Base Camp.

Defeating it unlocks new Mizutsune-themed equipment for crafting. Known for its Bubble ailment attacks and swift movements, this Leviathan is sure to challenge even experienced hunters.

Then, for those who’ve longed for a rematch against the enigmatic Zoh Shia, you are in luck. Once you reach HR50, a special quest will let you take on this powerful monster again — and finally craft its gear. After completion, the destroyer Guardian will have a low chance of appearing in the Ruins of Wyveria during The Wyvern’s Awakening or Plenty season.

Last but not least, Arch-Tempered Rey Dau will be available as an Event Quest at a later date, offering a fearsome challenge to those ranked HR50 and above. Of course, the Gamma Rey Dau sets will become available once you have bested the railgun dragon.

However, that’s not all in terms of returning monsters! The March Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase also teased an appearance by the King of the Seas, Lagiacrus. The Leviathan debuted in Monster Hunter Tri and has been missed by many players since Generations Ultimate. No doubt a Turf War between the kings — Rathalos and Lagiacrus — will be a spectacle no one would want to miss this summer.

If you enjoy love speedrunning and competition, Arena Quests and Challenge Quests are being reintroduced with Monster Hunter Wilds April Title Update 1. Players can compete for world rankings by taking on pre-set 2-player maximum Arena Quests or the 4-player Free Challenge Quests with no equipment restrictions. There are no exclusive armor rewards from these self-imposed tests, but Special Pendants will be given based on your personal and world ranking times.

More Than Just a Gathering Hall: The Grand Hub Arrives in Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1

One of the series’ staple features Hunters have been asking will arrive on April 4. Called The Grand Hub, you can enjoy a variety of social interactions with fellow players. Barrel Bowling and arm-wrestling mini-games, the Diva songstress performance at night, and of course, Canteen meals cooked by professional Felyne chefs.

Hunters can expect Felicita, the Squad Information Counter, to move here from Windward Plains Base Camp for easier access. To unlock The Grand Hub, reach HR16 and talk to Tetsuzan the giant Wyverian in Suja, Peaks of Accord.

The Grand Hub will also be the host of seasonal events throughout the year. The first one celebrates spring, Festival of Accord: Blossomdance, begins on April 23rd and ends on May 7th. Expect new and returning limited-time event quests, special meals, and exclusive seasonal gear.

In a later update, Capcom is planning to release a collaboration with another of its games. A crossover quest with an Onimusha or Okami Sequel theme, maybe? Along with it, the team will launch an Endemic Life tracking system to help you manage the wildlife you’ve caught — all 2,000 of them.

New Customization Options for Hunters and Alma Will Be Added As Well

Monster Hunter Wilds April Title Update 1 will let Hunters change Alma’s outfit and her glasses as well. The option will become available from the Appearance Menu while at a Camp. A free outfit will be available at launch, and the new pair of glasses are obtained after completing a Side Mission.

Those who enjoy fashion hunting will want to wait for the April 4 DLC — although it comes at a price. Various premium Pendants and Layered Armor will be available separately or as part of the Premium Deluxe Edition or Cosmetic DLC Pass. New Pop-up Camp gear customizations can be purchased for further personalization as well. Additionally, classic gestures from past Monster Hunter games will return as free DLC.

With new monsters to hunt and exciting social hub to explore, Monster Hunter Wilds April Title Update 1 is set to shake things up. There’s definitely something for every Hunter to enjoy starting April 4, 2025. For more details, you can watch the Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase stream archive above, starting at 09:35 mark.
