By Sidharta F. Rasidi on February 28, 2025 Guides, Monster Hunter Outlanders

It might not be the first Monster Hunter game to grace the mobile platform, but Outlanders is shaping up to be a massive experience. Blending the series’ signature giant monster-hunting action with open-world exploration, details of the highly anticipated spin-off are leaving fans wanting more. As more information is revealed, we’re covering everything currently known about the game, including beta sign-ups, system requirements, features, and monsters list. Whether you’re a veteran hunter or an eager newcomer, here’s what you need to know about Monster Hunter Outlanders so far.

Monster Hunter Outlanders Beta Period and Specs

Officially, the specs for Monster Hunter Outlanders have yet to be announced by the developer team. Nevertheless, taking into account other popular open world games in the mobile market, this could be:

  • Android: Version 7.0 or above and Snapdragon 835, MediaTek G71/72, or equivalent.
  • iOS: iPhone 11 or newer and iOS 13 or above.

To be invited to the Monster Hunter Outlanders beta, you’ll need to sign up in advance, even though the playtest period hasn’t started yet. Since the game was only recently announced, details on the beta are still limited. However, registering now ensures you’ll get notified when it goes live:

  1. Go to the Monster Hunter Outlanders official website.
  2. Click on the “Sign Up Now” button.
  3. Enter your email address.
  4. Agree with the “Terms and Conditions/Privacy Policy.”
  5. Click on the “Sign Up” button.

Will the Game Released on PC?

Popular open world mobile games like Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves are also playable on PC through a launcher. However, developer TiMi Studio Group hasn’t revealed if that is the case for Monster Hunter Outlanders.

Capcom and TiMi Studio have confirmed that four-player cooperative play will be supported. But that’s not all, as you’ll meet up and befriend characters while progressing through the story. These unique Hunters won’t just become allies, but you will also be able to control them.

TiMi Studio producer Dong Huang revealed that these side characters will have unique weapons, skills, and backstories. Mastering teamwork ‘with harmony’ is crucial for gaining the upper hand in hunts. Players should expect character rotations reminiscent of Genshin Impact and similar action mobile games.

The trusty cat sidekick Palico is back for another round of hunts, but this time, he’s not alone. Joining the fun are two new companions: a monkey-like creature and a bird; both will provide crucial support and item-gathering assistance. Footage suggests players may have more control over these buddies than before, but for now, TiMi Studio remains tight-lipped on the details.

A couple of monsters have been revealed for Monster Hunter Outlanders. But judging from armor and weapons teasers, at least 13 large monsters are confirmed for the game’s launch.

  • Anjanath (Brute Wyvern)
  • Barroth (Brute Wyvern)
  • Diablos (Flying Wyvern)
  • Great Jagras (Fanged Wyvern)
  • Jyuratodus (Leviathan)
  • Kulu-Ya-Ku (Bird Wyvern)
  • Legiana (Flying Wyvern)
  • Odogaron (Fanged Wyvern)
  • Paolumu (Flying Wyvern)
  • Pukei-Pukei (Bird Wyvern)
  • Rathian (Flying Wyvern)
  • Rathalos (Flying Wyvern)
  • Tobi-Kadachi (Fanged Wyvern)

Aside from returning fan favorites, monsters might also come equipped with special abilities. Huang said that Isolaneysa Island’s environment ended up infecting and mutating monsters. Rathian in the reveal trailer, for example, can be seen emitting some kind of a heat source from inside its body. However, more details are still being kept secret, as this unique phenomenon is connected to the story.

Monster Hunter Outlanders takes players to the expansive Isolaneysa Island, a seamlessly connected world of forests, swamps, and deserts with dynamic weather changes. While details are still scarce, it seems Hunters can gather materials not only to craft powerful gear but also to build their own homes.

TiMi Studio has also taken inspiration from other hunting and open-world mobile games like Wild Hearts and Genshin Impact. Players can now glide through the skies and utilize various wooden siege emplacements that can launch them into the air or even serve as weapons.

Beyond hunting massive beasts, Monster Hunter Outlanders will feature a variety of quest types, including open-world exploration and challenge-based missions. While specifics remain under wraps, the development team has confirmed that players can expect more than just tracking and slaying monsters.
