Where to Find Ayejack and Complete ‘The Apple of Her Eye’ in Monster Hunter Wilds

Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1 didn’t just add new social hub and monsters to fight, but also an option to dress up Alma. However, you’ll need to complete a Side Mission and help her find her lost red glasses to unlock this feature. Said glasses seem to have been stolen by a Wudwud named Ayejack. Here’s how you can find Ayejack and finish ‘The Apple of Her Eye’ Side Mission in Monster Hunter Wilds.

Locating Ayejack in ‘The Apple of Her Eye’ Side Mission Guide

1. Talk to Alma

Alma seems to have lost one of her pair of glasses somewhere in the Scarlet Forest during an Investigation. Obviously, looking for small glasses in a dense forest is like searching for a needle in a haystack. Asking the locals about a lost item would be the best course of action. And that means talking with the Wudwuds in their Hideout.

Open your Map and fast travel to the Wudwud Hideout in Area 12. Once you reach the Hideout, head inside and speak with Thunk. He’s the Wudwud that’s standing close to the entrance. He’ll tell you that Wudwuds often look for — and find — lost items at the end of the river.

2. Go to the River Near the Base Camp

The river mouth can be found not far from the Scarlet Forest Base Camp. From the Camp’s exit, head northwest. Once you her Alma comments, “I think there’s some noise coming from downstream,” that means you’re on the right track. Keep following the water until you see a bunch of Wudwuds scavenging stuff in the river.

You’ll spot a Wudwud that’s wearing Alma’s red glasses. Unfortunately, he’ll run away as soon as he’s spotted. Follow him back to their Hideout.

3. Head to the Wudwud Hideout during Plenty Season

Go inside the Wudwud Hideout and speak with Thunk again. He’ll tell you that you should ask about it to the others on the rooftop during a Festival. However, the Festival is only held during Plenty at night! With that in mind, set up a Portable BBQ Spit or go back to Camp and Rest to change the time of day.

Once you’ve changed the time to Nighttime and Plenty, go to the Wudwud Hideout once more. Take a left from the entrance and look for a vine to climb to reach the rooftop. You should find a bunch of Wudwuds gathering around a bonfire. Ask them about Alma’s glasses and they’ll all point their fingers to Ayejack downstairs.

While you’re at it, you might want to trade some materials for random items with the Wudwuds before you climb down.

4. Locate Ayejack in the Wudwud Hideout

Now, from the rooftop party, climb down the vines and go back inside the Wudwud Hideout. Ayejack can be found sleeping in the Wudwud’s hanging sleeping bag near the entrance. Speak to him and ask for the glasses back.

However, Wudwud is a trader tribe; one cannot acquire an item without handing out another. Thankfully, Ayejack’s isn’t asking for something complicated. Just give him one Eastern Honey and Alma’s glasses is yours. Eastern Honey itself can be obtained from random sparkly Honey or traded from a villager.

But that’s not all! Completing ‘The Apple of Her Eye’ Side Mission lets you change Alma’s outfit as well as her glasses. The options can be found in the ‘Appearance Menu’ > ‘Change Appearance‘ > ‘Change Alma’s Outfit’ inside a Camp.
